This Just In: The Woods is Actually A Blair Witch Threequel — Full Trailer Debuts!

Blair Witch. The Woods
Wow. Breaking news out of SDCC: LionsGate’s The Woods is actually a Blair Witch sequel called Blair Witch. The project was shrouded in secrecy until tonight when the picture made its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con. And so far the reactions have been great.

The film will follow the first in that Heather Donahue’s brother believes she is still alive and goes into the woods with a group of his college friends to look for her. Naturally, they realize that they are not alone. Check out the reecetnly released full trailer below!

This is exceptionally cool news. I love a secret project and I am a fan of the Blair Witch films. Yes, I even like the sequel that was largely panned by critics and audiences. I think that it was the most logical direction to take the franchise in and I think it’s enjoyable for what it is.

The threequel is directed by Adam Wingard and penned by Simon Barrett. It stars Valorie Curry, Callie Hernandez, and James Allen McCune. Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Keith Calder, and Jessica Wu are all on board to produce.

Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this project as we learn it. And watch out for our review closer to the film’s release!

I loved the first movie. It really terrified me. The book of shadows was less afraid and he was less documentary. I hope that this album will be like the first. I can’t wait <3
