The found footage style mockumentary The Houses October Built is headed for home video in the new year. The film will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray. We have the release date info and more for you after the jump.

In October, the film received a limited theatrical release in ten key markets – including Los Angeles and New York – with a simultaneous VOD exhibition. Now it is poised to hit home video shortly after the Christmas holiday.

The film’s home video release is planned for January 6, 2015. The Houses October Built (review) is directed and co-written by Bobby Roe. Roe’s screenwriting partners include Zack Andrews and Jason Zada. Steven Schneider (Insidious) served as a producer on the project. The Houses October Built stars newcomer Brandy Schaefer and the film’s screenwriting team Bobby Roe and Zack Andrews will appear alongside her.

The setup of The Houses October Built sees five friends taking off on a road trip to explore various haunted attractions and document their findings. No sooner than their fun has begun, the group encounters a kind of evil that clearly cannot be manufactured. The film plays out like a found footage documentary but it is in fact a scripted production. Stay tuned for more on this title as it comes in.
