Horror movies of 2015 - Krampus - The Year Christmas Horror Broke Out 2015

We have just received word that Krampus is headed for home video in April. We have an official release date announcement, special features, and more for you!

The film will hit Digital HD on April 12, 2016, and Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and VOD on April 26, 2016. In the meantime, you can check out our rave review right here.

The home video release will include an alternate ending, deleted scenes, extended scenes, a gag reel, a meet the cast featurette, still galleries, and feature length commentary. Features exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be a visual effects featurette, a look at the film’s practical effects with Rodney Cook,  a featurette on the film’s production design, a behind the scenes look at the Weta Workshop, and a featurette with director Michael Dougherty.

Krampus is helmed by cult icon director Michael Dougherty (who directed the modern Halloween classic Trick ‘r Treat) and co-written by Todd Casey, Zach Shields, and Dougherty. Jon Jashni, Thomas Tull, and Alex Garcia worked as producers on the project.

The film stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Emjay Anthony, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler

“When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas.  Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive. The horror-comedy also stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler. Krampus and his mischievous underlings have been created by the combined efforts of Weta Workshop and Weta Digital, both renowned for their epic work on The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies and King Kong, among many others.”
