New Images From Godzilla Resurgence Destroy The City

Earlier this week, we brought you the must-watch US trailer for Shin Godzilla (AKA Godzilla Resurgence). And now, we’ve got a whole load of images from the movie to pore over right after the jump.

Not content with storming the box office in Japan, where it debuted at #1, the King Of Kaijus is set to stomp through theaters Stateside next month.

The hugely-anticipated movie is ready to tear the US to shreds in October, for a short theatrical run from the 11th to the 18th. There will also be two premieres prior, on October 3rd in Los Angeles and on the 5th in New York, right before the opening day of New York Comic Con.

Funimation Films announced they’d acquired Godzilla Resurgence / Shin Godzilla  for US distribution at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Check out a few of our favourite images from the film below, courtesy of Bloody Disgusting.

The plot synopsis for Godzilla Resurgence / Shin Godzilla is tantalisingly mysterious, much like the creature at the heart of it:

After a mysterious accident occurs in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, Japan’s emergency cabinet convenes to find the cause and a solution. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town on a path of destruction to the nation’s capital… an unfathomable giant organism known as “Godzilla”

The movie is co-directed by Hideaki Annno (creator of the hugely-popular Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi and stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Satomi Ishihara and Yutaka Takenouchi. Godzilla Resurgence / Shin Godzilla represents the 29th movie produced by Toho that stars the King Of Kaijus.

Tickets for the theatrical run are available for purchase now via the official film site.
