New Ouija 2 Poster Has a Noticeably Retro Vibe

Ouija 2

This newly-released one sheet for Ouija: Origin of Evil has a very cool, retro aesthetic (which makes since, given that it is set in the ’60s). Add to that a promising trailer (check it out below if you have not already seen it) and it looks like we may have something to look forward to in this upcoming sequel.

Director Mike Flanagan has been eager to distance himself from the original, and rightfully so. The first installment left a lot to be desired. However, everything we have seen so far for his follow up effort looks promising. Flanagan has also indicated that if Origin of Evil is successful that there will very likely be another installment in the franchise. However, don’t expect him to be at the helm. Flanagan feels like he has told his Ouija story and intends to move onto something else.

Kate Siegel (Hush), Henry Thomas (Cloak and Dagger), LuLu Wilson (Deliver Us from Evil), Annalise Basso (Oculus), and Elizabeth Reaser (The Twilight Saga) star in the follow up effort. Mike Flanagan co-penned the script with Jeff Howard.

Basso will appear as a young girl who has recently lost her father. Ouija 2 is set for an October 21, 2016 release. We will keep you apprised as we learn more about this developing project.

This first film was directed by Stiles White. In spite of lukewarm critical response, it made over $100 Million on a $5 Million dollar budget.
