Not surprisingly, another Conjuring spinoff is confirmed. The latest character to receive a standalone film is none other than The Crooked Man from The Conjuring 2. The news comes courtesy of THR. The site also reports that Mike Van Waes has been tapped to pen the screenplay, based on a story by James Wan. Van Waes previously worked with New Line on a (currently untitled) horror script set in the Wizard of Oz universe.
The Conjuring franchise has been a cash cow for Newline. Both Conjuring films and the first installment in the Annabelle series have done huge numbers. So, we fully expect to see more stories from that universe going into production beyond The Crooked Man.
