After a successful box office run, Universal Home Entertainment has announced that The Purge: Anarchy is headed for DVD and Blu-ray next month. The James DeMonaco helmed horror-thriller will be available on home video in time for Halloween. Specifics after the jump.

The Purge: Anarchy will street on DVD and Blu-ray October 21, 2014. However, if you can’t wait that long, it will be made available two weeks prior to its DVD and Blu-ray release via Digital Download. In the meantime, the film is available for pre-order through a variety of online retailers. Special features for the home video release include deleted scenes and a making of featurette.

The Purge: Anarchy earned over $70 Million during its theatrical bow, topping its predecessor by roughly $7 Million dollars.

This follow up to the 2013 film The Purge takes place in a futuristic reality where one night a year, all crime is made legal. In making this allowance, the government has dramatically reduced the national crime rate for the other 364 days of the year. The Purge: Anarchy follow a young couple as they experience a breakdown on the night of The Purge. They are thrown into the midst of all the chaos and must fight for their lives and hope to survive the night.
