Director Eric England (Contracted) has been busy as of late. His film Contracted was recently released and he still has an excellent film called Roadside that has yet to be picked up for distribution. Now, as was previously announced at the American Film Market, England is at work on a new film called Get the Girl.

As for Get the Girl, we have some exciting casting news to share with you which was reported exclusively by the Variety website. The entertainment news outlet reports that actress Scout Taylor Compton (Halloween 2007) has joined the cast as have Justin Dobies, Elizabeth Whitson, and Noah Segan.

Get the girl is being marketed as a dark comedy but it’s likely that the picture will have some level of horror overtones. The genre film label Diablo Entertainment is set to produce the feature alongside Eric England.

Per the Variety website: “The story revolves around a wealthy young man who is conned into staging a fake kidnapping in order to be a hero and win the affection of a girl — only to see one of the hired kidnappers accidentally killed.”

As we learn more about England’s latest project, we will keep you informed; so stay tuned to the site for updates as they roll in on Get the Girl!
