After a series of false starts, the latest installment in the Friday the 13th series seems to be plugging along nicely. Today we learned that the latest installment has brought Hannibal Season Three writer and producer Nick Antosca on board to have a go at the script. The previous draft was penned by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. David Bruckner (The Signal) has been tapped to direct. The new installment is appropriately poised to release theatrically Friday May 13, 2016.
It was speculated around this time last year that Jason would not be in the next Friday the 13th film but that allegation turned out to be entirely false. It is also still being reported by THR, even with this latest announcement, that the film will be presented as found footage. But that rumor was refuted by Brad Fuller some time ago.
