Latest Shin Godzilla Images Storm Into View

Shin Godzilla (AKA Godzilla Resurgence) is nearly upon us, but before the King Of Kaijus destroys the US, we’ve got a handful more, super-cool images for you to feast your eyes upon. Check ’em out after the jump.

The hugely-anticipated movie is ready to tear the US and Canada to shreds later this month, for a short theatrical run across 440 theaters from the 11th to the 18th. Two premieres were also held prior, on October 3rd in Los Angeles and on the 5th in New York, right before the opening day of New York Comic Con.

The flick has already stormed the box office in its home country of Japan, where it debuted at #1. Funimation Films announced they’d acquired Shin Godzilla  for US distribution at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

The plot synopsis for Shin Godzilla is tantalisingly mysterious, much like the creature at the heart of it:

After a mysterious accident occurs in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, Japan’s emergency cabinet convenes to find the cause and a solution. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town on a path of destruction to the nation’s capital… an unfathomable giant organism known as “Godzilla”

The movie is co-directed by Hideaki Annno (creator of the hugely-popular Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi and stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Satomi Ishihara and Yutaka Takenouchi. Shin Godzilla represents the 29th movie produced by Toho that stars the King Of Kaijus.

Tickets for the theatrical run are available for purchase now via the official film site.

In the meantime, check out a sweet money shot of Godzilla below, along with a couple more pics detailing his path of destruction.

Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for our review a bit closer to the time.
