Sequel rumors have abounded ever since the release of Ridley Scott’s 2012 pseudo-Alien prequel Prometheus. But most of them have been false starts, unsubstantiated claims and the like. However, today we have a legitimate update on Prometheus 2. Head inside for the full story!
At one point, a release date of March 4, 2016 was announced but that is definitely not going to be feasible at this point. A 2017 release is looking a lot more likely at this point, especially based on this latest update from a Scified reader who uploaded a scan from the latest issue of Total Film to the site. That scan includes a firm start date for the production of the latest installment in the Prometheus franchise. Ridley Scott himself revealed to the outlet that he will be beginning filming Prometheus 2 in January of 2016. You can check out the scan for yourself below.
Although we don’t know exactly where the sequel will go, we do know that we won’t be seeing any Xenomorphs. Scott confirmed that some time ago.
The sequel is written by Michael Green and Jack Paglen. It will see the return of both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for even more updates on this project as they are announced!
