The Town that Dreaded Sundown.

The latest in the unconventional release saga for The Town that Dreaded Sundown remake will see the film headed for home video in the near future. We have the full details on that and more after the break.

The film has already aired on the Epix channel and streamed on both Amazon Prime and Netflix, but it has yet to actually be released on disc in the states. Well, today brings the announcement that the picture will be hitting DVD later this Summer. According to the press release, The Town that Dreaded Sundown will be available on DVD July 7th courtesy of RLJ Entertainment. Making the rollout strategy even more complicated, Amazon indicates that a Blu-ray disc will be available in September of 2015. No special features have been announced for the release at this point but we will keep you apprised as we learn more.
Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story) directs this redux from a script penned by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa (Carrie 2013). Addison Timlin (Odd Thomas) plays the lead character. Timlin portrays a young woman who survives a massacre at an annual screening of the 1976 film The Town that Dreaded Sundown in the town of Texarkana.

The Town that Dreaded Sundown redux was shot in Louisiana (with location shots taken in Texarkana) over the course of six weeks.
